On the phone with Selina Yiyi
Ming Ming on the phone with Selina Yiyi. Yiyi sings, and Ming Ming dances. Apparently, she has taken over Antoine's habit of walking around the house while on the phone. See how well she walks now. =)

playing alone
Ming Ming tried the wrap the blanket around her doll, which I was not able to film. Here she was still very busy with her blanket, and playing peekaboo with it...
Ming Ming in her new room
Moving Ming Ming out of our room was a rather unsure attempt. Even though it was really a pain to have to dismantle and reassemble her crib, I was ready to accept the possibility that we might need to move her back if she protested too mcuh. But babies have this amazing flexibility and capacity to learn and adapt. On the first day, she knew right away that her room is now a different one, and she has to sleep in her new room. In practice, it is a lot harder though. She kept wanting to return to our room as soon as night fell. As for the daytime naps, she would only fall asleep in our room, and then we could move her to her crib after. For four nights, she stayed awake for 2 to 3 hours around midnight and refused to go to sleep. On the fifth night we changed strategy and decided to let her cry it out during the night. I would go in to check on her whenever she wakes up, but would always leave within 5 mins unless her diaper needs to be changed. IT WORKS AMAZINGLY WELL! She would cry for a few miuntes and then fall asleep really quickly. Within a week, her night time waking has reduced from 3 to 4 times to one time at most. And twice in the last week (we are on the 8th day today), she did not wake up until 5am, and then quickly went back to sleep until 6:30am. For the first time in her life, Ming Ming is sleeping through the night! And for the first time in the last 14 months (except the two nights when I was away in Chicago), I don't need to wake up every three hours!

Joyeux anniversaire Mamiecath!

Ming Ming is usually reluctant to go to other people if they approach her first. From a distance she is very warm, she says hey and bye bye and blows kisses to everyone passes by. But if you tries to hold her, she would run away and hide. But it is totally different when it is a kid who approaches her. When Ashley gave her a hug, she kept going back to her and hugged her again and again. In an instant, they are best friends!

who is it behind the mirror?
Today we move Ming Ming to her own room, up to now, her crib is still in our room, and finally we come to the decision that she is big enough to have her own room. And in the midst of the chaos (we need to dismantle her crib and assemble it again as it is too big to pass the door), Ming Ming plays with herself in the mirror, kissing and playing peekaboo with her own image..
