playdate with Julian

The first time Ming Ming touched a real cat. This is a really nice cat. Julian and Ming Ming ran after it for quite a while.

Julian is very generous in sharing his toys and food, and kisses.... We had a really good time.

Zoo at Washington DC

Ming Ming's first encounter with some big animals that interested her so much in her books and DVDs - the tiger and lion are too far away to impress her, the apes and monkeys are more fun, the elephant and hippo are simply too big, they are scary! As it turns out, the mist spray is the funnest place in the world!

依依不捨

the morning before Popo leaves...

Ming Ming saying goodbye to popo in the airport... I am not totally sure if she understands what is happening. But after we left the airport, whenever we saw a plane, Ming Ming would point to it and say popo. This morning, when we got home from our morning exercise, she ran strict to popo's room and called for popo... She was quickly distracted from her confusion over popo's absence, but she was very clingy to me today, could not leave her alone or to the others for a few minutes. I have to wear her in the sling when I cook dinner!

des petites moments de Ming Ming

very vivacious and energetic Ming Ming!
Papa Antoine is away in Germany for a week. Ming Ming obviously notices the absence and refers to him often these two days.

Happy Birthday papa!

Ming Ming got a running nose and does not nap well in her bed, so she naps on Antoine's chest for a total of two hours today (1h in the morning, another hour in the afternoon). Papa is very happy that his little girl naps on him, as usually Ming Ming does not want to go to him for her bed/nap time.

Chinese flashcard

These flashcards are really amazing. Ming Ming loves them and we play with it very often. She recognizes a lot of them already, ranging from household items, things babies do, food, etc. The words here are: month, crawl, strawberry (cao mei, Ming Ming says "mei"), brush, drink, stand up, fish, sleep, sheep, watermelon (she says "da"/big because watermelon is big), boy (she says "hai" instead of "nan hai", but she says it in english too)... There are many more, but the memory card ran out of space...

Ming Ming at Children's Museum of Richmond

Ming Ming had an amazing time in the Children's Museum of Richmond, no wonder it was voted the best family museum in the region. She was so busy with all the fun activities that the afternoon nap and her running nose were less than an after thought.

Morning

Since last Saturday Ming Ming has been sleeping throught the night from 8pm till 6am. The evening feels so much better now, without constant worries that she might wake up again and how I was going to get her back to sleep. So in the morning we try to be extra nice with her. Papa reading stories and a lot of cuddling from mum.

Ming Ming recognizing family members

Ming Ming naming family members and friends from her photo album: starting with Anup Yiyi, Oscar gege (she says jiejie/elder sister sometimes; Helen: for the record, each time she sees you in her photo album, she says Mama. You may have one more child waiting at your doorstep when you come back from Korean). Then there is Yiyi for Selina, "Kaokao" for my brother and "momo" for Hung Zai (Ming Ming invented the name herself, "Kao mo" is too difficult), then there is Nana and Tonton Andre (Ming Ming does not agree with the name tonton Andre that much, she may come up with another name), there is her favorite word "papou" and "mami" (she is distracted by the bread in her photo with mami, she keeps saying bread). Sorry Tonton Nicolas and Tata Sylvie, she does not manage to say your name in this video, she does it some time, you got to wait for the next one.

we love the guitar!
