Parisien pickling cucumber - we made lots of cornichons this year

 Anne and Helen joined our garden this year. Almost the entire commune was there for the collective work day at the garden.

leaving Savannah... We listened to the entire Happy Potter book 1 CDs during the back and forth drive between Charleston and Savannah. It was Antoine's first time. MM's x time.

The City with Squares! Seriously, there is basically a square with fountains on every intersection. The city planners designed this for the firefighters to have easy access to water, but also aesthetically created a beautiful city!

another two-hour-long walking tour... had to promise MM that this would be the last one for the entire trip.

Middleton Place Plantation

Second day in Charleston, we visited one of the most famous plantations in the region - Middleton Place. 

Upon arriving, we had a fabulous lunch and then joined a two-hour long walking tour on the history of Slavery. The tour was very informative but Ming Ming was so bored.

late afternoon was spent on the beach again. I spent most of the time reading while MM and Antoine had fun braving the waves and building sand castles. The two of them would be happy just to spend the entire holiday on the beach!
