We took the kids to a concert titled "The composer is dead". The piece narrates a murder mystery in which the compose is found dead. As an inspector inquires into the case, each section of the orchestra is interrogated and their roles, functions, and characters in the orchestra revealed. It is an ingenious way to introduce children to the orchestra. and it is very enjoyable; the narration works really well with music to create a piece that is amusing and full of suspense. Our little audience is maybe too young to comprehend the whole narrative, but they were quite taken in by the music and performance. And the subject of who killed the composer continued at lunch time as they munched their pizzas and sandwiches.
we sat behind the orchestra on the terrace, which is actually quite good as we were really close to the stage.
In late afternoon, apparently Mike and Liz invited all the kids to their place for another concert. They mobilized many instruments in their home and everyone played. I was unfortunately doing grocery shopping and thus missed the whole show.
A very loud video of the Greenwood commune's first concern is put up in facebook by Keven, you can maybe access it here.
